Materials Manager contains a comprehensive freight rate database which allows automatic selection of rates when transactions enter the system. These are rule based selections based on either carrier, shipping location, user configurable zones and even commodity can be used as part of the selection process.

For more complex rail freight, rail routings can be defined with different carriers and rates along each point. These too can be automatically allocated to transactions therefore generating the right freight payable entries against each shipment.
